Sewing Project - Monkeys!

February 2, 2016 Update: Over 100 new FACS resources are now available in exchange for a small donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - see details here!

For hand sewing practice, my classes have always really enjoyed creating monkeys - particularly the boys, go figure. They are simple little felt creatures with button eyes and stitched noses and mouths.

If you're wondering what happened to the one on the bottom left, the creator of that particular monkey told me that "He was in 'Nam." Fair enough.

I am trying to have only a few on a machine at once because it was very hectic for me last year. Any other ideas of what to have the others working on would be great too!

    Thanks!

Yep, if you scroll through some posts from last school year I'm sure you'll recognize the classroom and the hideous stencils on the walls. I loved having you as a sub; about two sentences into the feedback you left me I realized you must be a FACS teacher because you actually taught! Awesome! I emailed you the monkey info, hope you enjoy the project!

  26. Hi Denise! I'm a 2nd year HS FACS teacher. I didn't like the handsewing project that I had my students do last year, so I was looking for other ideas when I stumbled upon your monkeys.
