Okay, I get that this is becoming borderline psychotic, but here's my latest classroom kitchen upgrade:
And now for the close-ups:
Lest there be any confusion whatsoever as to where I want these items to be stored after they are washed, rinsed, and thoroughly dried, there is now a visual guide in each of the upper cabinets. Drawers are next. Watch out, world.
You are my FACS idol! I have implemented the color-coding this year and it has been such a help. I had just started having an issue with organizing their color-coded tools, and you have come to the rescue again! Sheer brilliance : )
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for the affirmation! Though sometimes I may feel a little ridiculous, I never regret adding anything to my classroom that makes things even a little more organized. Truthfully I think the kids enjoy it too, especially the really detail-oriented students. Thanks for reading, glad it's helping!
DeleteAmazing! It would be ridiculous (yet also truly incredible) if your dish soap was also color coded. ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat's crazy is that I DID actually consider that! There is a rainbow of colors available in dish soap these days. But, common sense took over, as refilling them would be a pain. That also might have been enough evidence to have me committed : ).
DeleteCan you tell me where you found the pots and pans in colors and silverware to match?
ReplyDeleteHiya! The pots and pans are Rachael Ray - they come in several different colors (see http://www.facsclassroomideas.com/2012/03/kitchen-color-coding.html). Also kind of pricey, so I've had to use grant funding for them (right now I only have the orange, as I'm rebuilding at a new school). The silverware came from several different places. I've found colored silverware at WalMart, Five Below, IKEA, and miscellaneous dollar stores - you've kind of just got to keep an eye out!
DeleteThanks for reading!
What is in that box crate?
ReplyDeleteHi Mollie! All of the measuring cups and spoons are in the crate - you can see it at http://www.facsclassroomideas.com/2013/05/a-few-more-kitchen-tips.html . I like having them all in one space so that they don't have to hunt for different sized cups, spoons, etc, and it keeps them from getting lost! Thanks for reading!
